Patrik Howe was born 1981 in Uppsala, Sweden but now resides in Gothenburg Sweden where he runs a hot sauce company and a shop.
He originally studied graphic design and multimedia in college in Uppsala (1997-2000) but ended up getting a BA degree in Music industry management after two years of studies in Durham, UK and one year High Wycombe, UK. He graduated 2004, in the midst of the music business crisis triggered by the rise of mp3 and the downloading of music. This resulted in a struggle to find a job in the music industry and Patrik moved back to Sweden and took a job as warehouse worker instead.
During this time Patrik turned his focus on his music in the grindcore band Afgrund (founded 2006, meaning “Abyss” in old Swedish). They toured both the US, Europe and played several heavy music festivals in both Europe and the US. They’ve released several albums and it’s all available on streaming services.
After leaving the band 2008-2015 Patrik spent most of his free time either traveling around Europe on his motorcycle or racing enduro (off-road motorcycling).
During these years he also went on to become a certified plumber and later also work within plumbing and ventilation engineering.
In 2018 Patrik had an accident while racing and tore his ACL. While being away from work after surgery he realised he was craving change in life and decided to move to Gothenburg where he ended up working for a craft beer brewery for a few years before finally deciding to start his own hot sauce company called Såseriet (meaning ‘The Saucery’). He eventually also opened his own specialty foods shop, also called Såseriet.
In his spare time Patrik enjoys hanging out with his girlfriend Siri and his rescue dog Lillis, he also loves a good traditional beer in a calm pub with good friends, good food, spending time and camping in nature, hiking, travelling to mountainous areas and when time allows, producing dark and dramatic film music in his home studio under the name Ræmnants.
Patrik has travelled around Scotland several times with the main focus being the west coast. He has a constant longing of visiting Scotland again and sometimes envision himself retiring there in a remote place by the sea.
