Written for Marie Farren, originally Walker, from Daliburgh, South Uist.
“I am Marie Farren, originally Walker from Daliburgh, South Uist. I left South
Uist originally for school and then university. That was 30 years ago. I have lived in
Kilmarnock for nearly 10 years now, having met and married a Killie man, Neil. We
have a son, Harry. I currently work in the Gàidhlig ELC in Kilmarnock.
The title of the tune is my name in Gàidhlig: Marie, daughter of Mary, daughter of Donald. This is something i am very proud of.” - Marie.
