Claire Grant (nee Walker) was born in Inverness but spent her formative years in South Uist, nestled in the picturesque Western Isles. She was raised by her father, Donald, her mother, Rhoda, and her siblings: Calum, Donald, Marie, Sheila, and Roddy. Her journey led her to Glasgow, where she pursued higher education, and there she found love, marrying John C Grant in the enchanting setting of Daliburgh, South Uist, in October 1999.
They have two children, Isla and Calum, and they have established their family hearth in the welcoming embrace of Kilmarnock.
Presently, Claire lends her talents to the esteemed The National Trust for Scotland as an Operations Manager overseeing their portfolio of Edinburgh properties, including the illustrious Gladstone’s Land, the elegant Georgian House, and the historic Newhailes. Prior to this role, Claire made significant contributions as the Events Manager at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. Notably, she played an instrumental role in orchestrating notable events, one of which was the much-anticipated annual Bachelors’ Club Burns Supper in the charming town of Tarbolton, Ayrshire.
