Christopher Caird Dominique is a half Scottish, half Swedish jazz pianist, music producer, and bandleader known for his dynamic career blending jazz, folk, and avant-garde. With over ten years as a producer at the renowned Tambourine Studios, Dominique has shaped a broad spectrum of musical projects. His work includes arranging an opera for the iconic Swedish punk band Bob Hund in collaboration with the Malmö Opera Symphony Orchestra and composing music for theater and Swedish television, showcasing his versatility across genres.
Dominique’s career highlights also include touring with the influential Swedish indie band Eggstone and performing nationwide with Swedish rock legend Ola Salo. His remarkable collaborations include performances with notable artists, such as Philly soul legend Billy Paul, which further solidified his place in Sweden’s jazz and indie scenes.
After researching his great grand father, a violinist in the BBC variety orchestra in Glasgow he released the album Jazz in Scots and toured in Scotland in 2023.
Today, Dominique is dedicated to reviving the heritage of forgotten folk songs from the Swedish province of Småland through a series of album releases. This project reflects his passion for blending historical depth with modern jazz, breathing new life into timeless melodies and inspiring a new audience with Sweden’s folk music legacy.
