Andrea Oljelund Gadd, also known by her nicknames Andy or Ea, was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. A communications editor by profession, Andrea’s heart lies in the fascinating realms of history, animal rights, and music—particularly the gritty sounds of punk, hardcore, post-punk, and black metal, which she discovered in her early teens and has never abandoned. Her eclectic musical taste is complemented by an appreciation for Scandinavian and Irish/Scottish folk music, creating a soundtrack as diverse as her passions.
Beyond her work, Andrea lives a fulfilling and dynamic life. She enjoys escaping to her 17th-century cottage, indulging in board games, and immersing herself in nerdy history books—especially those focused on 16th-century Europe. She has an enduring love for Swedish folk dance, a hobby she’s been devoted to for nearly 20 years. One of her proudest accomplishments was dancing the Swedish Polska at the Kilmarnock Grand Hall, an event that marked her and her dance partner, Erik Holst, as the first to ever perform this traditional dance there.
Andrea’s big, close-knit family consists of six siblings—four sisters and two brothers—which has shaped her deep sense of connection to those she loves. Her devotion to animal rights is another cornerstone of her life, where she passionately advocates for the protection and well-being of animals.
As a true lover of history, Andrea has an ambitious dream of traveling to the old cities of Europe, hoping to explore the rich history and culture they hold. She also plans to revisit Scotland soon, a place that holds a special place in her heart.
Though she’s rooted in Stockholm, Andrea’s interests and ambitions span across many realms. Whether it’s through her work in communications, her love of alternative music, or her lifelong dedication to Swedish folk dance, she continues to pursue a life full of exploration, activism, and passion.
